ERIKA & TRAVIS RUMOHR’S WEDDING
Story by Hannah McKelson • Photos by Julie Adams
N
ewlyweds Travis and Erika Rumohr
first met 12 years ago, when he was a
college student and she a recent graduate.
Introduced by a mutual friend, they quickly
became inseparable, soon adopting a dog
together named “Max.” However, their
romance was complicated by Travis’s post-
graduate plans, and although they tried a long distance relationship for a
while, they eventually decided to split.

The two weren’t kept apart by distance for long — a few years later,
under the guise of visiting Universal Studios with Erika, Travis flew from
Ecuador to Florida, and the two found themselves rekindling their love
for one another. Travis was completing graduate work in Oregon, and
the pair soon packed up and drove cross-country with their dog Max in
tow so that Erika could move in.
Fast-forward to 2020, and while the COVID-19 pandemic put
many relationships to the test, Travis was certain if he had to spend every
waking minute of every day with a single person, he wanted it to be Erika.
Travis and Erika quickly
became inseparable, soon
adopting a dog together
named ‘Max.’
