Atiyeh joins board of Sea Turtles Forever Cannon Beach resident Deb Ati- yeh has joined the board of Sea Tur- tles Forever/Blue Wave. The nonprofi t group monitors endangered sea turtles and researches the eff ects of plastic debris in the Pacifi c Ocean along with cleanups. Atiyeh runs Deb Atiyeh & Associ- ates, a sales and marketing company for fashion accessories. She previ- ously volunteered with North Coast Rocky Habitat to help protect nest- ing birds, and helped develop fi rework enforcement in Cannon Beach. She also helped pass the city’s recent 5% tax on prepared food. “Deb’s skills in communications, her lifelong connections, and her pas- sion for wildlife and the environment makes her a perfect fi t for our team at Sea Turtles Forever/Blue Wave,” said Ed Johnson, the board’s chairman, in a statement.
