A free, 30-minute session, “Dealing with
Stress,” an interactive webinar with disas-
ter preparedness experts from the Oregon
State University Extension Service, is being
off ered at 6 p.m. on Tuesday.
The webinar explains ways to prepare
for anxious moments during a disaster, and
provides an emotional toolkit to help people
cope and respond eff ectively. At the end of
the presentation, the lines will be open for
discussion with the participants.
ILWACO, Wash. — Washington State
Parks invites the public to take a First Day Hike
on Jan. 1. At least 42 state parks have sched-
uled staff -led hikes. There are also self-guided
hikes, including one to the Cape Disappoint-
ment Lighthouse, dog strolls, cross-country ski
trips and more. Visitors won’t need a Discover
Pass to park on state recreation lands that day.
Most First Day Hikes require advance
registration, and group sizes may be limited.
