    Gearhart art gallery holds
holiday shopping festival
GEARHART — Trail’s End Art Associ-
ation is holding a “Winterfest!” event from
now until Dec. 22 to showcase one-of-a-
kind gifts for the holidays.
The gallery is in a turn-of-the-century
building at 656 A St. in Gearhart. The main
gallery features member original art fea-
turing a celebration to winter-related topics
plus artist favorites of their paintings, pho-
tography, glasswork and more. The entry
gallery is fi lled with prints, cards, baskets,
mugs, pottery, fi ne art jewelry and more.

Winter Window Contest
held in downtown Astoria
ASTORIA — The Astoria Down-
town Historic District Association invites
the public to take a stroll downtown to
view the displays for the Winter Window
Contest.
Maps of participating businesses are
available at the Liberty Theatre ticket
kiosk. Hot cocoa will be available and car-
olers will sing downtown from 4:30 to
6 p.m. Saturday and 4:30 to 5 p.m. Dec.
18.
The public will have a chance to vote
for their top three favorite windows. The
contest winner will receive a $100 gift
card. Voters will be entered into raffl e for a

Portland ‘supergroup’ in concert
ASTORIA — AMP, a Portland-based
string and saxophone trio, and folk musi-
cian Brad Parsons will present a concert at
Fort George Brewery Dec. 16.
The free AMP concert will feature mem-
bers of Fruition, G. Love & Special Sauce
and World’s Finest. AMP draws from the
original music of the three members’ main
projects, with a common thread of soul,
blues, jazz, funk and folk music. The con-
cert will also include special guest percus-
sion musician James West.
Folk musician Brad Parsons has toured
from Alaska to Atlanta singing, playing
banjo, keys and guitar. He created a solo-
group after serving as a sideman in the band
Horse Feathers. He’s performed at festi-
vals like Northwest String Summit, Win-
ter Wondergrass, JamCruise, High Sierra,
Aiken Bluegrass Festival, Yarmonygrass
and many more.
The concert is part of Liberty Theatre’s
community outreach program. The free
show will take place from 6 to 8 p.m., table
reservations can be made at fortgeorge-
brewery.com.
