Seaside Aquarium
holds holiday food drive
The Astorian
SEASIDE — The Seaside Aquarium
kicked off the holiday season with the “Feed
the Seals, Feed the Community” annual food
drive, which runs now through New Year’s
Day.
During this period, patrons can pay
admission to the aquarium with two cans
of food per person, which will be donated
to the Seaside-based South County Commu-
nity Food Bank.
According to Darren Gooch, board pres-
ident of the food bank, the aquarium’s cam-
paign, along with other local food drives,
are critical in sustaining the families, chil-
dren and seniors who do not have regu-
lar access to nutritious food, or who have
dietary restrictions. For information, call
503-738-9800 or go to seasidefoodbank.
com
Aquarium hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
daily. The aquarium is closed Christmas Eve
and Christmas Day. For information, call the
aquarium at 503-738-6211 or go to seaside-
aquarium.com
