    Naselle hosts Finnish
holiday events Sunday

ASTORIA — Liberty Theatre will
host “Pictures with Santa” oppor-
tunities throughout the month of
December.
Santa will be behind glass in the
theater’s historic ticket kiosk. Chil-
dren of all ages are welcome to meet
Santa and have their picture taken.
Adults are asked to bring their own
camera to capture the moment.
Santa will be at the theater on Sat-
urday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and will
also appear Dec. 11 and Dec. 18 from
11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Elves will enforce Oregon’s social
distancing and masking guidelines in
line and sanitize the kiosk between
Santa’s visitors. Visitors are reminded
to dress for the weather as Santa will
be meeting and greeting kids outside.
The Liberty Theatre is located at
1203 Commercial Street in Astoria.
NASELLE — The Naselle Finnish American
Folk Festival presents its annual Christmas Con-
cert and Tour of Homes Sunday at the commu-
nity center in Naselle, Washington.
The Christmas concert will begin at 1:30 p.m.
at the community center with Carl Wirkkala
and band members performing traditional and
new Christmas selections. Donations will be
accepted at the door and go toward upgrades for
the center and the Deep River historical church
restoration.
Following the Christmas concert, there will
be a tour of homes in Naselle and Rosburg from
2 to 5 p.m. Tickets and maps will be available at
the concert.
A soup supper will be held after the tour
at the Naselle Community Center. Soups and
breads will be available by donation from 4 to
6 p.m. There will also be a wreath sale and an
ESA food drive.
The Naselle Community Center is located at
14 Parpala Road in Naselle.
Designers could win $500 in poster contest
WHEELER — Heart of CARTM, a creative
reuse center in Wheeler is holding a design
contest for the 2022 Trash Bash Art Festival
poster.
The creator of the winning promotional
poster will be awarded $500. The winning art-
work will be used to advertise the 2022 Trash
Bash Art Festival throughout the Pacifi c North-
west. The winning poster will best represent
this year’s theme “Transformation” and Heart
of CARTM’s mission to reimagine waste.
The purpose of the Trash Bash Art Festival
is to weave old and new communities together,
to reimagine waste through creative reuse and
fundraising. Poster designs should be submitted
by 5 p.m. Dec. 10 to jessi@heartofcartm.org.
