    Sankta Lucia Coaster Th eatre presents ‘A Christmas Carol’
festival set
for Friday
ASTORIA — The Astoria Scan-
dinavian Heritage Association will
present the 2021 Sankta Lucia Fes-
tival of Lights at 7 p.m. on Friday at
the Astoria High School auditorium.
All are welcome.
Masks are required and admis-
sion is $1 or $5 for a family. Pro-
ceeds go to the Scandinavian Festi-
val scholarship fund.
This holiday traditionally opens
up the seasonal festivities in several
Nordic countries.
People are invited to sing car-
ols and experience the procession
of this year’s Lucia Bride, Grace
Maier, and her attendants.
Sankta Lucia will declare the
Christmas season open.
Refreshments will be provided by
the Sons and Daughters of Norway.
Live music for dancing will be
provided by The Polka Dots, a local
music group.

CANNON BEACH —
The Coaster Theatre Play-
house is presenting the
holiday classic “A Christ-
mas Carol” this weekend.
The production is a
radio-style play written,
workshopped and per-
formed by the theater
community.
The adaptation is set
in 1936, during a turbu-
lent time in American his-
tory. The timeless story
reminds audiences to
honor the spirit of Christ-
mas all year.
Performances are
scheduled for Fridays and
Saturdays from now until
Dec. 18.

chased online or at the
box offi ce or by calling
503-436-1242.
Audience members
need to show proof of
COVID-19 vaccination
and wear a face covering.
‘Deck
the Hall’
kicks off in
Skamokawa
SKAMOKAWA —
Friends of Skamokawa
River Life Interpretive
Center will kick off their
“Deck the Hall” open
house series Saturday.
The open house events
will continue Fridays
through Sundays until
Dec. 12 from 10 a.m. to
4 p.m. Vendors who wish
to participate should fi ll
out an application and
contact the center.
