Randall receives
PEO STAR scholarship
Resource fair set
for Saturday
Lily Randall, a freshman at the Califor-
nia Institute of Technology in Pasadena,
was the 2020-2021 STAR Scholarship
recipient from
the PEO Chapter
FE of Astoria.

excelled academ-
ically at Asto-
ria High School,
and was on the
soccer team and
ran track and
field. She was
also vice presi-
dent of the Key
Club,
worked
with communi-
ty-based activi-
ties, was in the
Lily Randall
Spanish
Club
and competed in
the National Ocean Bowl.
She is pursuing a bachelor’s degree at
Cal Tech. She has been accepted into a
program at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory
in Pasadena next summer, and will even-
tually work to attain a doctoral degree in
geology. Her ultimate goal is to work in a
space sciences program.

The Oregon State University Extension
Service, in partnership with Consejo His-
pano, is holding a communitywide resource
fair from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at the
Columbia River Maritime Museum’s Barbey
Maritime Center, 2042 Marine Drive.
Free vaccines will be available for individ-
uals age 12 and older, and there will be music,
food, community resources and food boxes,
all of which are free, plus a drawing to win
two VIP tickets to an upcoming Portland Tim-
bers soccer game.

Job Corps service project
addresses homelessness
Tongue Point Job Corps Center is embark-
ing on a new service project to reduce home-
lessness in the community by collecting
coats, blankets, socks, hats and food for Fill-
ing Empty Bellies.
This is the last of four service projects that
Tongue Point is spearheading this year in cel-
ebration of Management & Training Corpora-
tion’s 40th anniversary.
