    KALA to host Day camp
concert on
open to children
Saturday
ASTORIA — Registration is open
for a youth summer day camp, hosted by
Clatsop County Oregon State University
Extension Service. Registration is open
until Aug. 6.
The camp will be held from
1 to 5 p.m. on Aug. 15 for children in
grades 4 to 6. The cost is $5 per child.
The camp will be held at the Clatsop
County Fairgrounds, 92937 Walluski
Loop.
Children will take a forest hike,
make crafts, have a campfi re, play
games and more. To register, call

ASTORIA — KALA will host a con-
cert at 8 p.m. Saturday at the KALA Per-
formance Space, 1017 Marine Drive.
The evening will be a “night of acous-
tic/electric folk-rock favorites and ori-
gnals with local rockers RAIZZ THE
BARR.” The band features vocalist and
guitarist Victoria Kingsbury, dummer
Larry Aldred, conga player Curtis and
other local musicians.
There will be room for dancing.
Admission is $5 per person and is lim-
ited to ages 21 and older.

owns Cambium Gallery with Kirista Trask.
Artist studios open to
the public this weekend
ASTORIA — Astoria Visual Arts will
host the 11th annual Astoria Open Studios
Tour from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday
and Sunday. Studios will be open through-
out town. A guide of participating studios
is available at astoriavisualarts.org and in
the Astoria Visual Arts Gallery, 1000 Duane
Street.
The event will feature more than 55 art-
ists who will welcome visitors into their
studio spaces for free. Many artists will
give demonstrations during the event.
Some artists will participate via video
only. Videos will be available to watch
online at Astoria Visual Arts’ website.
Many artists’ work will also be featured
at the Astoria Visual Arts Gallery until Aug.
8. The event is open to all ages.
Concert

Monday
SEAVIEW — The
Sou’wester Historic Lodge
will host singer-songwriter
Robert Meade for a con-
cert from 8 to 9:30 p.m. on
Monday at the lodge, 3728
J Place.
The show will be open to
all ages and free to watch.
