Hoff man Gallery opens July show
MANZANITA — Hoff man Center for
the Arts’ May show will run until Aug. 1 at
the gallery, 594 Laneda Ave.
The show features artists Pam Greene
and Kathy Kanas.
Greene will be featuring the show
“Pacifi c Daydream,” which includes a col-
lection of paintings that depict the Oregon
Coast. All of the paintings were made in
Neah-Kah-Nie.
Kanas will showcase handmade baskets
that were made during the coronavirus pan-
demic. Many of the baskets were made on
the road and were inspired by Kanas’ expe-
rience during the pandemic.
The gallery is open from 1 to 5 p.m. Fri-
day through Sunday. Admission is free.
‘Hour of Ethereal Light’ by Pam Greene.
ILWACO — A series of summer
concerts will be held in Cape Dis-
appointment State Park, beginning
Saturday.
Concerts take place at 7 p.m. at the
Waikiki Beach lawn and outdoor amphi-
theater, along Jetty Road in the south end
of the park.
The Hackles, which is Luke Ydstie
and Kati Claborn’s roots-infl uenced
band, will perform Saturday. Follow-
ing The Hackles are Neftalí Rivera and
Grupo Borikuas, a Puerto Rican band
performs dynamic music with Afro-Ca-
ribbean roots, on July 24; Annie Staninec
and John Kael, a Portland duo with a
passion for traditional bluegrass and
early country, on Aug. 14; and Briar,
a powerful Washington state jazz and
blues singer, on Aug. 28.

CANNON BEACH — Tolovana Arts
Colony will host blues musician Nor-
man Sylvester at 5:30 p.m. in Cannon
Beach’s downtown
city park.
Sylvester is
known as the “Boo-
gie Cat.” He was
inducted into the
Oregon Music Hall
of Fame in 2011. He
has performed with
BB King, Buddy
Guy, Mavis Staples
Norman
and more.
Sylvester
Attendance will
be free and open to
all ages. Attendees
are encouraged to bring blankets, low-
backed chairs and fully-stocked picnic
baskets.
