Astoria FFA competed in the state FFA poultry evaluation
career development event this spring, placing fourth in the
state contest again this year. Pictured, from left, Connor Toolan,

production laying hens, market ready carcasses and were tested
in poultry knowledge.
Astoria First Baptist Church
First Baptist Church, 349 Seventh St., holds an
in-person worship service at 10:45 a.m. Sunday. Social
distancing is practiced, face coverings are required

The Southwest Washington
Symphony is off ering scholar-
ships to private music students
residing in Cowlitz, Pacifi c and
Wahkiakum counties in Wash-
ington, and Columbia and Clat-
sop counties in Oregon. Schol-
arships will be awarded based
on student and family needs.
For the scholarship year
beginning Sept. 1, the applica-
tion deadline is Aug. 1. Appli-
cants will receive notifi cation
by Aug. 15.
Applicants must have had
some prior musical training,
either in school or through pri-
vate study. Instrumental appli-
