Flowers bloom in downtown Astoria during
summer.
As spring showers slowly leave the fore-
cast and make way for clear, warm days
this month, the North Coast is a little closer
to the happy days of summer. As we dust
off our outdoor gear and plan new adven-
tures, a fresh season is beginning.
In honor of the new season, a collec-
tion of readers’ poetry will be featured in an
August edition of Coast Weekend. Whether
you’re already a published writer or want to
try writing poetry for the fi rst time, you’re
welcome to participate.
Is there a local resident who deserves
to be featured in the newspaper? Is there
