Genealogy society hosts virtual lecture One of Peter Greaver’s artworks. Artists sought for local exhibit CANNON BEACH — Art submissions are requested for an upcoming Cannon Beach Arts Association exhibit. Submissions are due May 30 at cannonbeacharts.org Up to three pieces can be submitted. Art should highlight “the beauty in decay” and artists should “think critically about time and its impact on our environment.” Selected pieces will be shown in an exhibit titled “Beauty Deconstructed” alongside work by Peter Greaver, the association’s art- ist-in-residence. All mediums are eligible to submit. Pieces must be submitted alongside a sub- mission form from the association’s website. Art should be wired to hang and fully dry. Clatsop County Gene- alogical Society will host genealogist Susan Baird for a virtual lecture at 1 p.m. Friday on Zoom (Meeting ID: 836 4428 8079, pass- word: 899186). During the lecture, Baird will present “Migration: Why is The Big Question.” Baird has been research- ing her family for 61 years and teaching research meth- odology for 46 years. She served a two-year family his- tory mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
