IT’S TIME TO REIN IN
THE HIGH COST OF
PRESCRIPTION DRUGS.
Thousands of Oregonians rely every day on prescription drugs to maintain their
health. AARP believes it’s unfair that we pay the highest prices in the world and that
many older adults must choose between filling their prescriptions and buying food.
As the cost of prescription medications continues to skyrocket, seniors, families,
employers, and state and local governments literally pay the price.
Pharmaceutical companies use the lack of regulation to their advantage, forcing
those who need life-saving prescriptions to accept unaffordable price increases.
We can hold pharmaceutical companies accountable. SB 844 will create a
Prescription Drug Affordability Board that can block excessive price increases.
It’s time to fight for the authority to crack down on outrageous price increases.
