Circa 2000 REVIVE YOUR SENSES at the Astoria Sunday Market Astoria Sunday Market is the place to revive your senses and re-experience all of the feelings that you’ve been missing during the pandemic. Thank You for the Support! Food Access THANK YOU to Astoria Sunday Market vendors, market-goers, Downtown Astoria businesses, and neighbors for all of the support and care for each other over this past year. The pandemic made the resiliency of this community bright and visible. As an outdoor experience, vendors safely supported our market goers with access to local goods and food; market goers safely supported our vendors and businesses by shopping local. It’s a joy to come back stronger in 2021. Astoria Sunday Market works to support food access for all visitors and community members alike. This year we will be working toward accepting SNAP / EBT at the market. Check website to find out when we are officially live! Many of our farmers also accept FDNP and WIC checks! Doggie Doo-do’s and Don’ts Astoria Sunday Market is a dog- gone friendly place. We are also a bustling and lively affair so not all dogs will be wagging their tails. If you have a nervous dog or one that is not well socialized, please consider leaving them at home. Here are a few Doggie Doo-do’s and Don’ts to help make your visit more enjoyable for yourself, your pup, the vendors and all the other good folks visiting the Market. | Short Leash: Please keep your dog on a short leash and do not use retractable leashes. The Market is a crowded place and it is easy for other visitors to trip over leashes (or your dog). | No Doo-Doo Allowed: Please be sure your dog has been thoroughly walked in an appropriate area before coming to the Market. If your dog has taken care of his business at home they are less likely to need relief at the Market. If Mother Nature does call, please PLEASE clean up after your dog. We have doggie-emergency cleaning kits at the Market Info Booth. | No “tinkling” on vendor products or tents! (One would think this doesn’t need to be spelled out but alas…) Please curb your dog. Some of our vendors charge dog-owners a cleaning fee of $50 or more and the Market supports them in this endeavor. | Inquisitive Noses: Dogs follow their noses, especially around food. We request that dogs and their noses be kept away from our food vendor booths. We suggest having a partner sit with the dog at one of the tables while you find your favorite snack or meal. | Not Everyone is Nuts About Mutts: Please remember that not everyone loves dogs the way you do and some people may even be afraid of dogs – especially the large breeds. No matter how sweet and adorable you know your pooch to be, please be respectful of others. We strive to maintain a fun and pleasant environment for everyone and with your cooperation we can continue bei ng dog-gone friendly! TASTE! Delicious meals and treats in our food court. It’s back! SEE! Friends and familiar faces that you’ve missed this past year. FEEL! Soft fabrics, chiseled wood, beaded textures, shaped porcelain, and more from our talented artisan vendors. REFRESH! With a cornucopia of greens, berries, peaches, and more of the freshest local produce around. SMELL! Foods you’ve been craving all year! Kettle corn, roasted nuts, donuts, pies, and more! EMBRACE! The Columbia River breeze, with your community by your side. REMEMBER! Keep wearing your mask, keep appropriate distance from others, and wash your hands. COVID SAFETY Your health is our number one priority While at the market you must: • Wear a mask at all times. • Always maintain a safe distance from others. • Regularly wash your hands at our wash stations. • Stay home if you or someone you live with is sick. • Read and respect vendor safety signage. • Avoid blocking aisles and step aside if others want to approach a booth. • Wait to enter the market until there is at least 6 feet of distance between you and others. • Shop and go so others can safely enter Market. Thank you all for your continued patience and cooperation. ASTORIA SUNDAY MARKET 2021 | 5
