WordFest
Astoria poet Florence Sage will be
the featured writer at WordFest, held
at 7 p.m. on Tuesday during a Zoom
meeting.

gathering of regional writers and read-
ers, hosted by Longview, Washington,
writer Alan Rose.
Sage will introduce and read from her
newest collection, “The Man Who Whis-
tled, The Woman Who Wished: A Pol-
ish-Canadian Story.” The collection
includes 62 poems about Sage’s life with
her immigrant family. The stories span
from WWII to three decades later.
The collection was published by
Gray Area Press with HIPFiSH Publica-
tions. Books are available to purchase
at RiverSea Gallery in Astoria and Time

The North Coast Chorale will perform three concerts in April.
North Coast Chorale

ASTORIA — North Coast Chorale
will perform at 7 p.m. Friday at the Char-
lene Larsen Center for the Performing
Arts, 588 16th St.
The chorale will perform two addi-
tional concerts, held at 4 p.m. on April 11
and April 18. At the concerts, the chorale
will perform “Lux Aeterna,” a composi-
tion by Morten Lauridsen. The piece is a
requiem Mass which features Latin lyrics
about light, and spiritual, artistic and intel-
lectual illumination.
The chorale will also perform Easter
choruses and arias from the Messiah.
To ensure audience safety, tickets will
only be available for purchase through
partnersforthepac.org. A limit of 50 tickets
will be sold for each performance. Tickets
are $10 each. Children under 12 get free
admission.
Performances will be limited to one
hour. Masks and social distancing are
required of everyone while inside the
center.
