    Mystery author to
speak at virtual lecture
CANNON BEACH — Cannon
Beach Library will host mystery author
J.A. Jance at 2 p.m. Saturday at face-
book.com/cannonbeachlibrary and on
Zoom (visit cannonbeachlibrary.org for
login information).
Jance will present “J.A. Jance, Her
Life and Times, 2021 Edition.” She
will discuss what she’s working, what’s
coming next and the origins of some
of her popular characters. She also will
highlight her latest Joanna Brady book,
“Missing and Endangered.”
Jance is a top 10 New York Times
bestselling author. She lives in Seattle.

Astoria Art Loft to
host three workshops
ASTORIA — Registration is open for
art workshops with Astoria Art Loft.
Two summer workshops for children
ages 7 to 12 will be held. The first work-
shop will run June 21-26. Children will
create art and learn about Native Ameri-
can artists of the Pacific Northwest. The
workshop costs $100.
The second workshop will run Aug.
16-21. Children will create art and learn
about American artists.
A third workshop, featuring watercolorist
Mick McAndrews, will be held Oct. 14-16.

in virtual lecture
ASTORIA — Registration is open
for a virtual lecture on acrylics at bit.

The lecture is scheduled for 1 p.m.
on May 1. Dots ‘N Doodles and Golden
Artist Colors are the lecture’s hosts.
The event will guide listeners
through the basics of acrylics, including
information on using acrylics for paint-
ing, drawing and mixed media. Infor-
mation about different colors, textures,
viscosity and more will also be dis-
cussed. A variety of examples will be
shown.
