Despite many annual events being
postponed until 2022, a handful of the
North Coast’s festivals and events are
returning this year.
Events so far have been held either vir-
tually or with social distancing guide-
lines — or a hybrid of the two. For now, it
looks like this will be the norm for at least
a few more months.
The Crab, Seafood & Wine Festival
please send an email by April 12 to aev-
ans@dailyastorian.com including your
name and town of residence. If you
remember which festival year your pho-
tos are from or have a short story about
the photos, please feel free to share those.
Please do not send in more than three
photos.

APRIL 1
A historical photo
of U.S. Highway
101.
is scheduled to happen from April 23 to
April 25. Unlike previous years, the festi-
val will be primarily virtual. Participants,
vendors and performers will use an online
platform to connect with one another
through phone calls, video calls and other
methods. Some aspects of the festival will
be held in person under reduced capacity.
The April 22 edition of Coast Weekend
will include information about this year’s
festival. As a way to honor the festival’s
history and impact on the area, Coast
Weekend will feature a photo collection of
readers’ crab fest photos.
If you have photos from past festi-
val events and would like to share them,
