ADOPTING A CAT OR DOG:
Potential adopters can view our cats and dogs online at our
website www.beachpets.com. If you see a cat or dog you
would like to meet, submit an online application that is on
our website. The applications are screened and then
appointments are scheduled for potential adopters to meet
their selected animal(s). When we receive multiple
applications for the same animal, we prioritize the
applications by day/time received and best fit.
FUNDRAISING EVENTS:
PROGRAM OVERVIEW
South Pacific County Humane Society (SPCHS) is a community
funded 501(c)3 nonprofit no-kill shelter. We provide
compassionate care and placement for stray and surrendered cats
and dogs and services to support the community in caring for
their pets. Check-out the cats and dogs currently at the shelter by
going to our website at www.beachpets.com.
• SPCHS finds homes for over 400 cats and dogs each year.
Each cat and dog have their medical needs addressed including
vaccinations, spay or neuter; as well as, safe housing, food,
socialization and affectionate care until an appropriate adoptive
home is found.
• SPCHS returns over 100 lost cats and dogs each year back to
their family. While they are with us, we provide safe housing,
food and address any urgent medical needs until they are reunited
with their family.
• SPCHS assists low-income households in caring for their pets
with a voucher program for low-cost spay/neuters and a pet food
program.
• SPCHS supports humane management of feral/community cats
through trap/neuter/return (TNR) by providing education and
mentoring, trap loans for TNR, and very low-cost spay/neuter
services.
• SPCHS provides licensing of pets for households in the cities of
Long Beach and Ilwaco.
• SPCHS provides boarding on a limited basis as space is
available.
• SPCHS provides education and support for pets in neglected
situations.
2 • Make a difference in 2021
2020 changed our approach to fundraising events. Our main
fundraising event will be Beach Pets Treasure Hunt online
auction starting April 24th and ending May 2nd. We will
have our annual Garage Sale on May 29th. It will only be
one day instead of three and will be held outside at our
shelter annex. Our Furrballs Golf Tournament at The
Peninsula Golf Course is June 6th. We will participate in
Giving Tuesday on December 7th and hope to have our Santa
Pics on December 4th. Other ways to donate and support the

BUSINESS GIVING OPPORTUNITIES:
SPCHS welcomes all business giving, including
memberships, cash and in-kind donations of items needed for
the shelter. We are extremely appreciative of the support we
receive from our community.
SPCHS extends a special thank you to Lighthouse Realty for
sponsoring our page in “Giving Back”.
SPONSORSHIPS:
SPCHS has many sponsorship opportunities. Memorialize a
pet or special person for $100 with a plaque displayed at the
shelter. Kennel sponsorships are available for $100 with a
plaque displayed on the kennel for one year. Other
sponsorships include the sponsoring of one of our pets, an
adoption, a spay/neuter or making a contribution to the
Homeless Pet Medical Fund at Oceanside Animal Clinic in
Seaview.

VOLUNTEER:
It is easy to become a volunteer at the South Pacific County
Humane Society. Go to our website www.beachpets.com
and click on “Volunteer”. Potential volunteers can look
through volunteer opportunities at the shelter, read the on-
line Volunteer Handbook and submit a volunteer application.
Our Volunteer Coordinator contacts each person to discuss
their area of interest and then connects them with the
appropriate Volunteer Trainer. We have many volunteer
needs – dog walkers, cat cuddlers, greeting/assisting visitors,
answering phones, adoption counselors, data entry, laundry,
fundraising and events and writing grants.
