Pruning workshops set for next weekend
MANZANITA — Hoffman Center
for the Arts will host aesthetic pruner
Maryann Lewis for virtual and in-person
pruning workshops on Oct. 8 and Oct.

The Oct. 8 class will be held from 4
to 5:30 p.m. and take place by videochat.
Registration costs $20.

ASTORIA — The Clatsop Community
College Royal Nebeker Art Gallery will
open its new exhibition season on Monday
with a solo show.
The show, titled “Rediscovering Silence,”
will feature art by Chris Sheridan, of Seattle.
Sheridan is an award-winning artist
whose work has been featured both nation-
ally and internationally in Finland and
Morocco. He is currently represented by the
Seattle Art Museum Gallery and recently

costs $75 and is limited to 10 people.

Lodge will host Portland folk musician
Jeffrey Martin for a livestream concert
from 8 to 9:30 p.m. on Saturday.
The performance will be hosted on
the lodge’s Instagram, instagram.com/
souwester.
The show is appropriate for all ages
and is free to watch.

Downtown cleanup scheduled for Saturday
ASTORIA — Astoria Downtown Historic
District Association will host a downtown
cleanup from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday.
Volunteers will participate in tasks like
removing stickers from light poles and pull-
ing weeds.
