Sou’wester launches no-contact market
aims to raise
money to aid
local food
producers
ASTORIA — The North Coast Food
Web is raising funds for a grant program
to help local food producers.
The fund’s goal is to aid local farmers
and other food businesses that have been
negatively impacted by the coronavirus.
Money will be divided into small grants
for applicants.
The food web has raised over $1,000.
The organization is aiming to raise
$5,000 to divide into fi ve $1,000 grants
or two $2,500 grants. Grantees won’t be
required to pay back any funds.

ing local residents a no-contact
market.
Products include home and
food items.
The lodge is among a few
local markets still operating,
including the pared down Asto-
ria Sunday Market and the
North Coast Food Web’s Thurs-
day market.
Customers can order prod-
ucts through the Sou’wester
at souwestermarket.square.

between noon and 5 p.m. Mon-
day through Friday.
Astoria’s market is open
from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sun-
days off 12th St. between
Duane and Exchange Streets.
