creates social
commentary
Seattle bluegrass band has local roots
OCEAN PARK — The Peninsula
Senior Activity Center will host Sarah
Peacock at 2 p.m. on Sunday.
Peacock, a singer-songwriter, will per-
form Americana-focused
rock and country. The
concert will be held at the
center, 21603 O Place.
Peacock tries to use
her platform for social and
cultural change. Many of
her songs relate to current
Sarah
events and social issues.

Song themes include top-
ics such as mental health,
the LGBTQ community and religion.
Attendance is $10 per person.

RAYMOND — Sunday Afternoon
Live will present a bluegrass concert at
2 p.m. Sunday.
The concert will feature the North
Country Bluegrass Band and be held at
the Raymond Theatre, 323 3rd St.
The band is based out of Seattle and
features a South Bend native, singer and
guitar player Norm Olsen.
Since forming in 2012, the band
has been recognized by the International
Bluegrass Music Association in North
Carolina. Their album, “Won’t
Be Over You” was named a top 10 blue-
grass album by KCBS Radio in San
Francisco.
Admission is $12 for advance tickets
or $15 for tickets purchased at the door.

Classical pianist
to perform Friday
North Country Bluegrass Band will perform
Sunday at the Raymond Theatre.
CANNON BEACH — The Cannon
Beach Community Church will present an
award-winning classical
pianist at 7 p.m. Friday.
Baron Fenwick will
perform at the church,
located at 132 E Wash-
ington St. Fenwick will
perform pieces by com-
posers Joseph Haydn,
Baron
Sergei Rachmaninoff,
Fenwick.
Frédéric Chopin and Ser-
gei Prokofi ev.
Fenwick’s accomplishments include
winning the 2018 Mannes Orchestra Con-
certo Competition in New York City and
being a laureate of the 2017 Ravel Prix at
the Fontainebleau Conservatoire. He reg-
ularly travels internationally to perform
in solo recitals and with symphonies and
orchestras.
Admission to Fenwick’s concert will
be free to all ages.
Indie rock trio to
play in Long Beach
LONG BEACH — The Peninsula Arts
Center will present the Kathryn Claire
Trio on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
Claire sings, and plays guitar and vio-
lin. She’ll perform songs from her lat-
est album, “Eastern Bound For Glory,”
which is inspired by her experiences as a
touring musician.
Claire will be joined by Allen Hunter
on bass and Sid Ditson on violin.
Admission is $15. The concert
will be held at the center, 504 Pacifi c
Ave. N. Tickets are available online at
