Caption: Cannon Beach Fire District Staffing and Operations
Levy
Question: Shall CBRFPD maintain emergency services by levy-
ing $.35 cents per $1000 of AV for five years, beginning
2020-2021? This measure may cause property taxes to
increase by more than three percent.
Summary: Cannon Beach Rural Fire Protection District provides
fire, rescue, and emergency medical services to the residents of
Falcon Cove, Arch Cape, Cannon Beach and surrounding areas.
Operations are funded through local property taxes.
Levy funds would:
- Stabilize district funding
- Hire a full time Training Chief
- Support EMS and Rescue programs
- Stabilize funding so the District can begin a plan of replacing ag-
ing apparatus without having to continue asking voters for bonds
- Stabilize funding so the District can continue Building Replace-
ment Reserve Fund
The levy would fund services at a fixed rate of $.35 cents per
$1000 of assessed value.
For a home assessed at $400,685; about average for residential
property in the District, the cost would be about $141.08 per year.
- Estimated revenue for each year of the levy:
$403,875 in 2020-2021
$415,991 in 2021-2022
$428,470 in 2022-2023
$441,325 in 2023-2024
$454,564 in 2024-2025
The estimated tax cost for this measure is an ESTIMATE ONLY
based on the best information available from the county assessor
at the time of estimate.
