New Year’s Eve
ASTORIA — Celebrate the new
year with local jazz. Bridgewater
Bistro presents live jazz this New
Year’s Eve by Equinox Plus. Music
begins at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Bridge-
water Bistro, 20 Basin St., Suite A.
Equinox is a jazz trio comprised
of guitarist David Drury, bassists
Todd Pederson and flutist Shel-
ley Loring Barker. Each member
has a broad range of musical expe-
rience and together they bridge the
gaps between several musical styles
seamlessly and with virtuosity.
They take their audiences on a
musical tour that personifies mod-
ern, standard and contemporary
jazz.
On Tuesday, they will be appear-
ing as Equinox Plus and feature
drummer Ken Kirby and a special
set featuring vocalist Aleesha Nedd.

A bright aft ernoon in Raymond
RAYMOND — Dan Weber will
present “This Little Light of Mine”
and use his voice, guitar and upbeat
message to entertain at 2 p.m. Sunday
at the Raymond Theatre, 323 3rd St.
Admission is free.
Donations are welcome and will
support Friends of the Raymond The-
atre and Sunday Afternoon Live.

Mine’ as a theme as it’s fairly well
known, has an upbeat, positive mes-
sage and it’s a good sing-along,” Weber
wrote in an email. “It has quite a fasci-
nating history. I think I fi rst began sing-
ing it as a kid in grade school.”
The local concert will showcase
Weber’s talent as he brings a musi-
cal candle of hope to a long winter’s
afternoon.
