The Astoria City Council will hold a public hearing on Monday,
September 30, 2019 at 7:00 p.m., in the Astoria City Council
Chambers at City Hall, 1095 Duane Street, Astoria. The purpose
of the hearing is to consider the following requests:
1) Amendment (A19-05) by Community Development Director to
amend the Astoria Comprehensive Plan to adopt Uniontown Re-
born Master Plan (URMP), addendum to 2004 Astoria Transpor-
tation System Plan, amend Uniontown Area and Polices, amend
Port Area and Policies; amend Astoria Development Code with
implementing ordinances for the Uniontown Area; amend zoning
map to designate Uniontown Overlay Zone. The area is generally
from Smith Point to Columbia Avenue with portions on the north
and south sides of West Marine Drive (Map T8N R10W Section 13,
Tax Lots 200, 400,402, 1400, 1401; Map T8N R9W Section 7CA,

ulations to address the mass and scale of buildings, establish a
process for possible future special Plan Districts within the BVO,
and clarify allowable recreational use as water-dependent use.
Development Code Sections 4.220, 14.100, 14.113, Articles 9 and
10 are applicable to the request.
The Astoria Planning Commission has recommended approval of

The location of the hearing is accessible to the handicapped. An
interpreter for the hearing impaired may be requested under the
terms of ORS 192.630 by contacting the Community Development

All interested persons are invited to submit comments on the draft
application at the hearing or by letter addressed to the City Coun-
cil, 1095 Duane St., Astoria OR 97103. The Astoria City Council
reserves the right to modify the proposal or to continue the hearing
to another date and time. If the hearing is continued, no further
public notice will be provided.
