24-hours of nonstop entertainment at Pier Pressure
Production’s Performathon 2019 fundraiser
ASTORIA – Pier Pressure Productions’s
presents Performathon 2019, a 24-hour
fundraising event running non-stop from
7:15 p.m., Saturday, July 27, to 7:15 p.m.,
Sunday, July 28, on the Ten-Fifteen Stage
at 1015 Commercial St. Admission is $10.
Larger donations are accepted.
Admission buttons, which allow full
access, are available at Ex Libris Anony-
mous, 1191 Marine Drive, or at event.
The event will feature local entertain-
ment including music, comedy, poetry,
dance, performance art and more.
There will also be a cakewalk, raf-
fle, art for purchase, improv and rendi-
tions of Pier Pressure Productions’ shows.
Local filmmaker Mick Alderman’s 2011
Astoria-based horror film Haunted Shore
(Crimps) will be shown.
Festivities include performances by Wil-
liam Ham, also the emcee, DanPa, Maggie
and the Katz, The Sharon Hartley Band,
Dragonfly Moon, Niall Carroll, Peter
Unander, Brian Bovenizer, Jeff Munger,
Shelleyne Winans, Jessamyn Grace, Jenni-
fer Crockett, Dylan Hauser-Schalk, Gabe
White, Katrina Godderz, Ann Branson,
Daric Moore, Graham Nystrom, Bill Honl,
The Brownsmead Flats, Rock Fish Blues
Band and Barbie Gaidosh.

Walk the Discovery Trail
in Long Beach with the
Angora Hiking Club July 27
LONG BEACH – The
Angora Hiking Club will
walk a section of the Dis-
covery Trail at 9:45 a.m.
Saturday, July 27.
This hike is appropri-
ately 5 miles one way.
Walkers will pass the
Basalt Monolith, Clark’s
Tree and Whale Skeleton
along the Pacific Ocean
on this easy trail.

the parking lot on Marine
Drive in Astoria just west
of Burger King between
2nd and 3rd Streets.

Art Association calls all local
artists to participate in the
69th Annual Judged Show,
Aug. 3-24 at 656 A St. Sub-
mit work Sunday, July 28,
or Monday, July 29, from
10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Wet, mixed media, pho-
tography and 3D art wel-
come. Two age catego-
ries will be offered: youth,
14-years and younger, and
adult and high school stu-
dents, 15-years and older.
Youth category will not
be judged. Each young art-
ist will receive an award
and have work displayed in
a special exhibit on Aug. 3
from 2-5 p.m.
The adult category offers
cash prizes for Best in Show
and the Mayor’s Award, plus
business donations for firsts
in each category.
Judges this year include
professional artist and
Astoria’s Imogen Gallery
owner Terri Sund, profes-
sional artist and Neskowin’s
Hawk Creek Gallery owner
Michael Schlicting and Asto-
ria professional fine arts pho-
tographer Dwight Caswell.
