Their set highlights an evening of music and fine dining, with an opening performance at 5:30 p.m. by North Coast jazz standouts R.J. Marx and John Orr. The event is open to the public and is $50 per person. A buffet dinner prepared by the club’s executive chef, Gehrett Billinger, and his culinary team, follows the opening set. This soft-spoken Ore- gon native’s inspired song- writing produces propulsive Vocalist Shelly Rudolph and pianist Tom Grant come to the Astoria Country Club June 15. R&B grooves, infectious melodic hooks and styl- ish ballads with equal ease. He plays jazz piano with the harmonic sophistication and deep sense of swing that only comes from more than four decades on the bandstand. Rudolph has been sing- ing, performing and com- posing for more than 20 years. Her projects have embraced soul, jazz, blues, R&B, reggae and pop. She is currently among the bus- iest vocalists in Portland, performing every week in her own projects as well as with Grant. Marx and Orr have play top venues on the Coast with their soulful renditions from the American Song- book and notes of swing, bebop and modern jazz.
