Ten Knappa players named all-league Naselle
dominates
all-league
selections
Takalo is MVP
The Astorian
T
he Knappa Loggers landed
all nine starters, plus one,
on this year’s Northwest all-
league baseball team, as voted on
by the league’s coaches.
Logger junior Eli Takalo was
named as the league’s Player of
the Year, and Knappa’s Jeff Miller
earned Coach of the Year honors,
as the Loggers extended their six-
year record in league play to 117-3.
Neah-Kah-Nie also had 10 play-
ers named all-league. The Loggers
and Pirates combined for 20 of the
40 all-league selections.
Takalo was joined on the fi rst
team by teammates Logan Bartlett,
Ryker Coffey and Tristin Wallace.
Four more Loggers made the
second team: Logan Flues, Devin
Hoover, Shaun Lackey and Ryson
Patterson, while Jaxson Goodman
and Cameron Miethe made honor-
able mention.

prominently in the spring
Coastal League all-league
teams.
In baseball, Ethan Lindstrom
was named the league’s Player
of the Year. He was joined on
the fi rst team by Cole Dorman,
Kolten Lindstrom and Josh
Townsen.
Earning honorable men-
tion were Daniel Holt, Joey
Strange, Jimmy Strange and
Clay Bergeson.
Naselle’s Randy Lindstrom
was named Coach of the Year.
The Comet boys had a suc-
cessful season, earning the Dis-
trict IV championship, but lost
11-2 to Odessa in the WIAA
state quarterfi nals.
There was similar success
with the Naselle softball team.
Lily Harman of Naselle
shared the league MVP sta-
tus with Abbi Vanblaricom of
Wishkah.
Named to the all-league
fi rst team were Comets Brynn
Tarabochia, Kylee Tarabochia
and Hollie Haataia.
Honorable mentions went
to Hailey Weston, Taylor Gud-
mundsen and Peyton Dalton.
The Comets reached the fi nal
eight as district champions but
lost their opening-round state
playoff game to Inchelium,
18-5. Dropping into the conso-
lation bracket, Naselle defeated
Taholah, 17-2, before Pomeroy
ended Naselle’s season with an
11-2 win.
