IN BRIEF
Navy hovercraft makes landfall Monday
WARRENTON — A Navy hovercraft will deliver
supplies to Sunset Beach on Monday as part of a disas-
ter-preparedness drill.
Clatsop County partnered with the Navy and state
Military Department to demonstrate how crucial sup-
plies and equipment can be delivered to the North
Coast in the wake of a major natural disaster, such as
a Cascadia Subduction Zone earthquake and tsunami.
The Navy will station an amphibious ship off the
coast and launch the hovercraft around 9 a.m. Mon-
day, with a second run later for more supplies. The
public can view the hovercraft on the beach follow-
ing the second landing. Hearing protection is recom-
mended for when the hovercraft is operating.
Free fi shing this weekend
No fi shing licenses are required to fi sh in Oregon
on Saturday and Sunday.
Other fi shing regulations, such as closures, bag lim-
its and size restrictions, still apply.

Thursday and arraigned Fri-

over the past four years.
Davis faces four counts
of fi rst-degree sexual abuse,
a Class B felony. The Mea-

datory minimum sentence of
six years and three months
for each count.
Detective Ryan Hum-
phrey of the Clatsop County
Sheriff’s Offi ce interviewed
both the girl and Davis earlier
this month. In a court docu-
ment, the detective detailed
the girl’s graphic account of
Davis’ alleged serial abuse

to perform sex acts on him,
showed her pornography

on his cellphone.
Douglas denied being
