The water-themed pre- sentation will feature singer/percussionist Jose Moreno and guitarist Pedro Cortes. Both musicians are third-generation Spanish fl amenco artists and live in New York City. The all-ages shows will be part of a 30-date tour that begins in Bellingham, Washington, and ends in Southern California. Tickets are available at brownpapertickets.com. Born in Seattle to par- ents of Puerto Rican and Irish ancestry, Fuentes is one of the only touring art- ists in the Pacifi c North- west with strong links to fl amenco culture. She stud- ies both baile (fl amenco dance) and cante (fl amenco singing) and has toured throughout the western states. Cortes comes from a family of Spanish Gypsy guitarists and began his studies with his father and the esteemed fl amenco gui- tarist Sabicas. Touring pro- fessionally since the age of 17, he has gained interna- tional recognition as a solo- ist and composer. He is artistic director of his own fl amenco group, and also musical director of Palo Seco. Born to famous fl a- menco artists, Moreno began his fl amenco career as a child. He debuted at the famous Tablao fl a- menco Costa Vasca. He has performed with the Boston Flamenco Ballet, at Carne- gie Hall and with the Met- ropolitan Opera in New York and the Washington National Opera in Washing- ton, D.C.
