Department Decision
The Seaside Planning Department has received the following re-
quest:
18-074VRD, 18-075VRD, & 19-009V is a request by Act Enter-
prises for a one (1) bedroom Vacation Rental Dwelling permit with
a maximum occupancy of not more than three (3) people over the
age of three at 345 Avenue C. The applicant is also requesting a
Vacation Rental Dwelling Permit for a two (2) bedroom Vacation
Rental Dwelling Permit with a maximum occupancy of not more
than four (4) people over the age of three at 424 S Edgewood.
These homes are located on the same property (6-10-21AC TL
7300) and it is zoned High Density Residential (R-3). In conjunc-
tion with these requests, the applicant is asking for a variance to
the required 9’ width for one of the required parking spaces based
on the design of a pre-existing carport.
The review will be conducted in accordance with Article 6, 7, and
10 of the Seaside Zoning Ordinance which establishes the review
criteria and procedures for a Conditional Use and Variance. The
specific review criterion for Vacation Rental Dwellings is included
in Section 6.137 of the Ordinance.
A copy of the applications, applicable criteria, documents, and
evidence relied upon by the applicants are available for review
at no charge. These materials can be reviewed at the Community
Development Department, 1387 Avenue U in Seaside. Copies of
these materials will be provided at a reasonable cost. All inter-
ested persons are invited to submit written testimony in favor or
in opposition to the request. Written testimony submitted by 9:00
a.m., Monday, March 11, 2019; will be considered by the Planning
Director in rendering a decision on the application. Comments re-
ceived after this date will not be considered. Comments may be
delivered to the Community Development Department located
at 1387 Avenue U or mailed to 989 Broadway, Seaside, Oregon
97138. Failure to raise an issue in writing, or failure to provide suf-
ficient specificity to allow the Planning Director the opportunity to
respond to the issue may preclude appeal to the Planning Com-
