ASTORIA — The Lib-
erty Theatre is proud to
announce the premiere of
Hollywood’s biggest night in
Astoria! Our superstar guests
will walk the red carpet past
adoring fans and paparazzi
into our glamorous historic
theater. The evening will
be hosted by Astoria’s own
Drag Queen Daylight.
There are two levels of
experience:
• 3:30 p.m. $50 VIP
ticket: Enjoy a private recep-
tion on the Mezzanine while
watching the OSCAR® Red
Carpet Live pre-show on
the big screen. Hors d’oeu-
vres will come from Fulio’s
Restaurant and a compli-
mentary drink ticket redeem-

Death penalty doc screened in Astoria
ASTORIA — The new
documentary fi lm “In the
Executioner’s Shadow” be
presented for the fi rst time
on the Oregon Coast at the
Astoria Library on Satur-
day, Feb. 16. Doors open at
1:30 p.m.
The fi lm looks at the con-
sequences of the death pen-
alty through three stories:
the perspective of a former
state executioner who comes
within days of executing an
innocent person; a Boston
Marathon bombing victim
who struggles to decide what
justice really means; and the
parents of a murder victim
who choose to fi ght for the
life of their daughter’s killer.
This provocative fi lm
challenges viewers to ques-
tion their deepest beliefs
about justice. A discussion
will follow the screening.
