THE MOLLY PHILLIPS AND PHILLIP STEINKE WEDDING
M
olly Phillips and
Phillip Steinke
are self-described
outdoorsy types, so of
course they wanted a
wedding en plein air.
Late
summer
seemed like a safe
bet, but the North Coast had other plans for them.
As Molly tells it, “Originally we were supposed to have
our wedding on the beach at Arch Cape in August—but it
rained. So we had to make a change. But it was almost meant
to be, because some in our family have a hard time walking.

So we went into the Loft in the Red Building and it was easier
for everyone.”
Despite the venue switch, Arch Cape has played an
important role in their relationship. All the wedding guests
were presented with a beautiful Oregon agate as a take-home
gift, collected from Arch Cape beach where Molly’s grandpa
had a house —“My second home,” as she says. For her
birthday last year, Molly got a rock polisher, so she and Phil
selected and polished the best of the agates and added a little
gift card. “Please take one of these Oregon Coast agates home
with you. We spent hours collecting these together over the
years, building the foundation of our relationship. As we
continue building on that foundation for the next chapter of
our life, we are sharing that love with you. We hope you take
this treasure home with you and it brings you love and good
luck.”
This was only one of the loving and unique features of their
wedding that reflects their connection to the North Coast. As
Molly said, “I would describe our theme as rustic/coastal. We
used driftwood and succulents, rusty metal items—one was a
six-foot-long chicken-feeder for flowers at the head table—
vintage picture frames, and green everything. My mom and
grandfather took me to antique stores for as long as I can
remember. They also had a huge affinity for McCoy vases, so
each of the tables had a few vases and a planter that my mom
and I had picked out. >>
