ADHDA elects new board and officers
The Daily Astorian
At the December board meeting,
new and continuing directors of the
Astoria Downtown Historic District
Association (ADHDA) elected the
following individuals to office for
a term of one year: Derith Andrew,
president; Patsy Oser, vice-president;
Julie Kovatch, secretary; and Jeremy
Towsey-French, treasurer.
Andrew has served as a direc-
tor on the board of ADHDA for five
years, and has also served as trea-
surer. She resides in Astoria, and is a
vice president at Clatsop Community
Bank. Oser has also served as a direc-
tor on the ADHDA board for several
years, and is an active community
volunteer. She will succeed Andrew
as president in January 2020.
Kovatch has served as a direc-
tor on the ADHDA board for two
years, and is the director of commu-
nications and marketing for Clatsop
Community College. Towsey-French
is new to the board, and is the owner
of Reveille Ciderworks.
Other directors new to the board
include Micha Cameron-Lattek,
co-owner of Street 14 Cafe; Daryl
Moore, owner of Hazen Hills Soft-
ware; and Christina Cary, co-owner
of Pilot House Distilling.

include Tiffany Butler, owner of
Whole Brain Creative; Greg Cross,
owner of Northwest Lending Group;
Pete Gimre, owner of Gimre’s Shoes;
Norma Hernandez, coordinator for
the Women, Infants and Children
(WIC) program for Clatsop County;
and Brett Estes, city manager and
ex-officio member of the board.
Members retiring from the board
include Brad DePuyt of Fort George
Brewery and Public House, and
Dulcye Taylor, owner of Old Town
Framing and president of ADHDA
from 2012 to 2018. Both are continu-
ing their service with the association.

The St.Mary, Star of the Sea Parish office is closed from
today until Jan. 3, but Daily Mass is offered regularly during
the office closure.
There is a Christmas Eve Vigil Mass at 4 p.m. Monday at
St.Francis de Sales Mission, 867 Fifth Ave. in Hammond, and
a bilingual Mass at 7 p.m. at St. Mary, Star of the Sea Catholic
Church, 1465 Grand Ave. in Astoria, where there is also a Mid-
night Mass.
On Christmas Day, Mass is at 10 a.m. at St. Mary, Star of
the Sea.
The St. Vincent de Paul Food Bank, behind St. Mary’s on
15th Street, needs ramen, sugar and flour in 1-pound sizes, plus
jellies and jams.
The food bank is closed Tuesday and Jan. 1, but open the rest
of the month from 10 a.m. to noon on Friday and Saturday. For

Bethany Free Lutheran Church, 451 34th St., offers a Christ-
mas Eve Candlelight Service at 10 p.m. Monday, featuring can-
dle lighting, singing Christmas carols and special music. “Fear
not — it’s good news” is the message topic.
A Christmas Day worship service is at 10 a.m. Tuesday,
which also includes special music and carols. The message
topic is “Fear not — God is in control.”
The public is welcome to both services.
Grace Episcopal
There are two Christmas Eve services at Grace Episcopal
Church, 1545 Franklin Ave.
The Family Christmas Eve service, with the Holy Eucha-
rist and carols, is at 4:30 p.m. Monday, and welcomes fami-
lies and children. The children of Grace will present a Christ-
mas pageant.
The midnight service is preceded by a time of carol singing
with the choir at 10:30 p.m. the service begins at 11 p.m., and
also features the choir and Holy Eucharist. On Christmas Day,
