‘A Christmas Carol’ as a
one-man, 26-character show
ASTORIA — Performer Al
LePage presents Charles
Dickens’ “A Christmas Car-
ol” as a one-man, 26-charac-
ter show at 3:30 p.m. Sunday,
Dec. 16, in the historic Flavel
House Museum, 441 Eighth
St.
LePage brings this time-
less holiday story to life as
a dramatic reading perfor-
mance based on Dickens’
own historic script from his
1867-68 American tour. LeP-
age uses only voice, facial
expressions and gestures
to create all the characters
from Scrooge to Tiny Tim,
from Marley’s Ghost to Mrs.
Cratchit.
There will be howls and
growls, bangs and bongs,
a dance with a song, lively
laughter and heartfelt tears.
Admission is $10 for the
general public, $5 for Histor-
ical Society members. Due to
limited seating, reservations
are suggested. Mature chil-
dren 10 and older will best
appreciate these dramatic
reading performances, origi-
nally scripted by Dickens for
adult audiences.
