families in south Clatsop County
The Daily Astorian
SEASIDE — The Rotary Club of Sea-
side and its foundation are partnering with
the Marine Corps Reserve to bring Christ-
mas gifts to south Clatsop County families
who might not otherwise wake up to gifts
on Christmas morning.
From now until Dec. 16, commu-
nity members can help by donating new,
unwrapped toys in the Toys for Tots toy
bins at: Walmart, Seaside High School,
Broadway Middle School, Clatsop Com-
munity Bank, First National Bank, Bank
of the Pacific, Seaside Ace Hardware, Rite
Aid, Carousel Mall, Carters and Book-
store of Outlet Mall.
At 11 a.m. Dec. 19, the Rotary Club
will be at the Seaside Civic and Conven-
tion Center to help parents and families
choose toys for their children.
Parents are encouraged not to bring
their children to the gift selection event on
Dec. 19.

4-H needs
adult volunteer
Cloverbud leaders
The Daily Astorian
There is a 4-H informational meeting at 5:30 p.m. Monday
at the 4-H & OSU Extension office, 2001 Marine Drive, for
interested adult volunteers to work with youth in the 4-H Clo-
verbuds program for ages 5 to 8. There are youth in Knappa,
Seaside, Warrenton and Astoria who have expressed interest
in joining, and leaders are needed to start new clubs.
Participation, safety, personal development, learning and
fun are the highest priorities for Cloverbuds programs, which
are activity-focused, not project-focused, and are built on
cooperative learning rather than competition.
A Cloverbud member engages in varied activities which
focus on developing a specific skill or concept to complete
the activity.
For information or to RSVP for the meeting, contact San-
dra Carlson at 503-325-8573.
