SING FAMILIAR CAROLS WITH
CANNON BEACH CHORUS
The Cannon Beach Chorus pres-
ents its fall season concert, “Caroling!
Caroling!,” at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30,
at Cannon Beach Community Church,
and 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, at Ne-
halem Bay United Methodist Church.
Adult tickets are $10 and may be
purchased at the door. Students 16
and under get in free.
The chorus, directed by John Bue-
hler, will present Christmas carols
by composers John Rutter, Gustav
Holst, Dale Grotenhuis, Alfred Burt
and Gustaf Nordqvist, with arrange-
ments of well-known carols by Roger
Wagner and Fred Bock.
This year’s program will also fea-
ture audience participation in singing
familiar carols.
“Every year, the chorus ends the
program with a piece that allows
audience members to sing ‘Silent
Night’ and everyone seems to enjoy
it immensely,” pianist Susan Bue-
hler said. This year “the audience
will have an opportunity to sing a
few more Christmas songs with the
chorus.”

Jazz vocalist brings holiday music to the peninsula

The Kilgore Trio.
ILWACO, WASH. — The
Water Music Society on
the Long Beach Peninsula
celebrates the season with
an afternoon of Christmas
and holiday music.
The event takes place
Sunday, Dec. 2, at Har-
bour Village in Ilwaco.
Festivities begin at 2 p.m.
with sweet and savory
treats, beverages and a
no-host champagne and
wine bar. Then enjoy a
musical feast at 3 p.m.
by jazz vocalist Rebecca
Kilgore and her band
composed of piano, string
bass, clarinet, saxophone
and trombone.
Kilgore has been
inducted into the Oregon
Music Hall of Fame and
the Jazz Society of Ore-
gon Hall Of Fame.
Tickets are available
for $10 online at water-
musicfestival.com or at
the door. A portion of
the proceeds are donated
to local school music
departments to further
students’ musical oppor-
tunities and education.
