L
ocated just off High-
way 101 near Gearhart
is an agricultural oper-
ation that many peo-
ple might more closely associate with
the state of Washington than Clatsop
County. But cranberries are grown here
and when the time is right, they have
to get out of the field and into a waiting
truck. That’s when the Bogh family puts
on their waders, grabs tools and trudges
out into the water. They spend more
than a month flooding bogs and gather-
ing the berries that float to the surface.
