MEET THE CHIEF
FIRE CHIEF PERRY SHERBAUGH
Chief Perry Sherbaugh started his
career as a volunteer fire fighter with
Manzanita Fire Department in 1986. He
served as a Captain with the department
and in 1994 became the first Public
Safety Officer for the City of Manzanita.
In addition to being Fire Chief he also
worked as a police officer for the city. In
1998 the City of Manzanita combined
the two departments into one and
formed the Manzanita Department of
Public Safety. Chief Sherbaugh was appointed the Police and Fire Chief
and continued in that positioned until August of 2009 when he was
hired by the newly formed Nehalem Bay Fire and Rescue District.
