H
aystack Rock Awareness Program volunteers spend much of their time interacting with the public. They educate visitors and show them
interesting features of the rock. Wildlife Center of the North Coast volunteers work with birds all day long. Last week the two groups
came together in Cannon Beach with a common goal — to release young seabirds back into the wild, where they belong. The juve-
nile common murres were rescued from the surf near Haystack Rock and rehabilitated before being released close to where their journey began.
