AUGUST 30, 2018 // 9 Sept. 1 SEASIDE — Celebrating 14 years in 2018, the next Seaside First Saturday Art Walk will be held 5 to 7 p.m. Sept. 1. The free event is all about seeing and selling art in sponsoring businesses between Holladay Drive and Broadway Street in the historic area of downtown Seaside. Peddler’s Row 600 Broadway St. Featuring vintage original oils, designer goods, work created by artisans and collectibles gathered from all over the country. Peddler’s Row is an antique business curated by Avery Loschen and Will Perkins, owners of the Gilbert Block Building. She creates both wall-mounted and tabletop lamps. Also featured are new stained- glass and ceramic mosaics by Anna Meyrick, and beaded and acrylic icons and wall shrines by Zemula Fleming. Live music will be provided by classical guitarist Dan Golden. Light appetizers will be served. Paul Brent Pop-Up Gallery and Studio 604 Broadway St. Artist Paul Brent will be showing new watercolors completed on a recent trip to France. The new works feature scenes of Paris, the Normandy Coast and the villages and chateaux of the Loire Valley. Limestone cliffs of Normandy reflect the towering parapets of castles and cathedrals in watercolors that reflect the national romance of the Impressionists. Pacific Heirloom 608 Broadway St. Featuring Oregon-grown antiques, art and collectibles presented by Kay Kenny. David M. Neff is a former con- tractor and homebuilder from Canby. He uses specialty woods, which he harvests himself. Most pieces are carved out of one piece of wood. Fairweather House and Gallery 612 Broadway St. Opening reception for “Color and Shape,” an exhibition featuring new contemporary works by regional art- ists. The show covers every aspect of art, textures, materials and finishes, highlighting the quintessentially colorful fall season. Starry Night Inn 811 First Ave. ‘Cultural Merge,’ oil on linen by Zifen Qian at Fairweather House and Gallery. An art motel by the sea located in a Victorian villa where each room features art from Oregon artists. The art at the motel is curated by Chris Haberman. Starry Night Inn continues to feature Brenda Dunn, artist/illustrator. Brenda’s specialty is her vintage inspired pinups that capture the sultry, glamour of the 1940s and ’50s. Her work was featured in three seasons of the TV show “Portlandia.” Westport Winery Seaside 810 Broadway St. As part of this evening of art, Westport will feature 34 unique labels featuring original art by family and friends. Westport Winery won Double Gold at the Savor NW Competition with our 2014 Maritime Sparkling Riesling! ‘Fishing,’ oil on linen, by Blue Bond at Blue Bond Studio and Gallery. Blue Bond Studio and Gallery 417 S. Holladay Drive Featuring amazing paintings by artist Blue Bond done in oil on canvas. Animals, people, still life and wonderful scenery pictures will de- light Art Walk guests. Blue Bond is a local artist in Seaside. He paints and teaches in oil and acrylic to novices and experienced painters alike. Gilbert District Gallery 613 Broadway St. Featuring Lisa Sofia Robinson, formerly a professional photogra- pher for 22 years. She now produces digital color studies for giclees and creates original acrylic paintings on canvas. Lisa loves color, texture and contrasts.
