Notice of Planning Commission Public Hearing
On Tuesday, September 4, 2018, at 7:00 p.m., a hearing will be
held by the Seaside Planning Commission at Seaside City Hall,
989 Broadway. They will be reviewing the following request:
18-065VRD is a conditional use request by Jon & Erin Harding
for a three (3) bedroom Vacation Rental Dwelling with a maxi-
mum occupancy of not more than nine (9) people over the age of
three. The property is located at 2423 S Edgewood (6 10 28BD
TL 3902) and it is zoned Medium Density Residential (R-2).The
review will be conducted in accordance with Article 6 and Article
10 of the Seaside Zoning Ordinance which establishes the review
criteria and procedures for a Conditional Use. The specific review
criterion for Vacation Rental Dwellings is included in Section 6.137
of the Ordinance.
18-012VRD & 18-036V Appeal- This is an appeal by Frances
Kubicek of the Planning Director’s approval of the following re-
quest:
A conditional use request (18-012VRD) by Daryl Habit for a three
(3) bedroom Vacation Rental Dwelling (VRD) permit with a max-
imum occupancy of not more than six (6) people over the age
of three. The property is located at 600 15 th Avenue (T6-R10-
S15CB-TL13002) and it is zoned High Density Residential (R-3).
The owner is also requesting a variance (18-036V) to the 50%
side yard landscaping requirement for the area east of the dwelling
because it is all currently committed to access for the neighboring
properties. Two new spaces will be developed on the south side
of the dwelling without taking up more than 50% of that front yard
area. The review will be conducted in accordance with Article
6, Article 7 and Article 10 of the Seaside Zoning Ordinance which
establishes the review criteria and procedures for a Conditional
Use & Variance. The specific review criterion for Vacation Rental
Dwellings is included in Section 6.137 of the Ordinance.
A copy of the application, applicable criteria, documents, and ev-
idence relied upon by the applicant are available for review at no
charge. Likewise, a staff report will be available for inspection 7
days prior to the hearing. These materials can be reviewed at the
Community Development Department, 1387 Avenue U in Seaside.

Sealed bids will be received up to the hour of 2:00 PM, local time, on August 28th, 2018 by Karen

97110, for the following work:
Slow Sand Filter Resanding Project
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The intent of this contract is to add sand the existing sand filters that process domestic water for the
City of Cannon Beach. There are two filters that are the same size. The sand filters are located ap-
proximately 1 mile east of the City on Elk Creek Road. The access into the water treatment plant is
restricted with locked gates. The work consists of removing and locally stockpiling approximately the
top 2 inches of existing sand from the filter bed, then furnishing and installing approximately 1,000 tons
of new sand. There are stringent specifications for the quality, handling and the placement of the sand.
Project Substantial Completion shall be December 14th, 2018 (10 weeks from Notice to Proceed) and
Project Final Completion shall be December 28th, 2018 (3 months from Notice to Proceed).
A pre-bid meeting will not be held for this project. Prospective bidders are encouraged to contact the
City of Cannon Beach Public Works department if they are interested in visiting the site prior to the bid.
Any bids received after the above specified time will not be considered. The carrier, including the Unit-
ed States Postal Service, is considered an agent of the bidder.

preclude appeal to the Land Use Board of Appeals on that issue.
