QUEEN
MEGAN POSTLEWAIT
Megan Postlewait, the daughter of Marni and Walt
Postlewait, graduated from Astoria High School
this spring. She played soccer for two years at
Astoria High School and swam for the Astoria
High School swim team. Megan has been a Girl
Scout for 12 years and has earned her Girl Scout
Bronze and Silver awards. While in high school,
Megan was the president of Mu Alpha Theta math
honors society, and the president and founder of
Euclid’s Apprentices, a peer math tutoring
program. She was also a member of the National
Honors Society. Megan won first place in the
Algebra 2 division at a regional math competition
her freshman year of high school, and she won
fourth place in the pre-calculus division her
sophomore year. She has been an active member
of 4-H for six years and loves her job at Frite and
Scoop. In the fall, Megan plans to attend Clarkson
University in Potsdam, New York, to major in
computer science.

CORONATION
For over 100 years, The Astoria Regatta has
been represented by a distinguished court of
young women from local area schools. During
the year, the chosen court will give speeches,
make appearances and attend parades.

This was the second year of the Regatta Court
Mentorship Program. The program aligns each
of the court members with a leader who
mentored her throughout the season.
Last year, Megan Postlewait was crowned the
2017 Regatta Queen, and she will hand down
her title this year. The new Regatta Queen will
be chosen from among the four 2018 Regatta
Princess Ambassadors during the Queen’s
Coronation, on Wed., Aug. 8 at the Liberty
Theater at 7:00 p.m.
