SEASIDE — Celebrating 14 years in 2018, the next Seaside
First Saturday Art Walk takes place 5 to 7 p.m. Aug. 4. The
free event is all about seeing and selling art in sponsoring
businesses between Holladay Drive and Broadway Street in
the historic area of downtown Seaside.
Peddler’s Row
600 Broadway St.
Featuring vintage original oils,
designer goods, work created by ar-
tisans and collectibles gathered from
around the country! Peddler’s Row is
an antique business curated by Avery
Loschen and Will Perkins, owners of
the Gilbert Block Building.
SunRose Gallery
606 Broadway St.
Featuring Zemula Fleming with her
highly collectible, detailed, richly
decorative seed bead mosaics and
paintings, mostly of women, and
small wall shrines. In her travels to
Italy, Spain and Peru (her husband’s
birthplace), she enjoyed exploring
ancient churches with their amazing
architecture and artwork. Zemula’s art
reflects the people, past and present,
who cherished them, and hopes to
tell a story for the viewer about a
person of another era, encased in a
decorative and jewel-like window.
Also present will be mixed-media
upcycle artist Patty Thurlby and
pique assiette artist/owner Cathy
Tippin with her new china mosaics
and jewelry. Light appetizers will be
served. Music is TBA.
Pacific Heirloom

Featuring “Oregon-grown” antiques,
art and collectibles presented by Kay
Kenny. Featuring limited-edition
prints by Rod Frederick, an artist who
grew up in Portland. Artistic influenc-
es shaped Frederick’s boyhood — his
mother had a degree in fine art, and
his father, a lawyer, spent weekends
at the easel. Today Rod Frederick’s
career is wildlife art.

Opening artist’s reception for
“Emerging,” an exhibition and sale.
Introducing Veronica Russell, a
mixed-media artist. Russell’s current
mixed-media work centers around a
block print, using other media to layer
in texture, color and overall finish to

ing woodworkers Mike Brown, Jim
Unwin and Edlee Quesnell. Meet the
artists and learn about their artistic

An art motel by the sea located in
a Victorian villa where each room
features art from Oregon artists. This
motel offers artist residencies. The
art at the motel is curated by Chris
Haberman. For the summer, Starry
Night Inn features Brenda Dunn,
artist/illustrator and curator. Brenda’s
specialty is her vintage-inspired pin-
ups that capture the sultry, glamour
of the 1940s and ’50. Her work was
featured in three seasons of the TV
show “Portlandia.”
