Astoria Makers is tak- ing reservations for its new coworking space in the Van Dusen Building. “Astoria Makers is seek- ing creative individuals, mak- ers and small-business entre- preneurs to join the upcoming studio collective located in the Van Dusen Building on 10th and Duane streets downtown,” said a release from the group. “The collective will now focus entirely on artist-run spaces, some to include open-studio hours and educational classes.” Spaces include small, medium and large studios, a 1,000-square-foot suite of small rooms and a 650-square- foot retail storefront with a private bathroom. All mem- bers of the collective will have access to a communal kitchen, lounge, bathrooms and a com- munity room for events. Col- lective artists will be featured on the Astoria Makers’ web page. Astoria Makers Spaces at Astoria Makers’ headquarters in the Van Du- sen Building include small, medium and large studios for working artists. “The shift to an artist-run collective space developed natu- rally in the final months of space build-out as the team listened to community input and feedback on how artists best want to use the space,” the release said. Tenants include Audrey Long Ceramics and a design lab focused on traditional woodworking, digital design and customized machine work. Astoria Makers antic- ipates the next set of rentals coming online in September, with additional spaces ready throughout the fall.
