Ty Herndon rocks 25th Relay for Life

SEASIDE — “Rockin Out Can-
cer,” a benefit for Clatsop Coun-
ty’s 25th Relay for Life featuring
Nashville country music star Ty
Herndon, will be held Saturday,
July 7, at Seaside High School.
The event is free and open to
the public. It will be emceed by
Capt. Jack Sparrow’s “cousin.”
This year’s event is dedicated to
Doug Parvi, who lost his battle
to lung cancer in October 2017.
Enjoy live music at 5 p.m.,
a silent auction, a photo booth,
great food, family fun and
themed laps. An autographed
guitar by Herndon will be avail-
able in the silent auction.
Salon La Figlia will cut hair
to donate to Pantene, which

cancer in Clatsop County. A
canned food drive that benefits
the Clatsop County Regional
Food Bank is also on hand.
The opening ceremony kicks
off at 10 a.m., and the Luminary
Ceremony is at 10 p.m.
Relay For Life is the signa-
ture fundraiser for the American
Cancer Society. These events
bring our community together to
remember loved ones lost, honor
survivors of all cancers and raise
money to help the American
Cancer Society make a global
impact on cancer.

consideration must be
submitted by 10 a.m.
Tuesday, one week and two
days before publication.
