Cleary selected as Star of Life
nominee for Medix Ambulance

Nicole Cleary of Medix
Ambulance Service has
been nominated as a 2018
recipient of the American
Ambulance Association’s
Star of Life Award, a recog-
nition program to celebrate
and reward emergency med-
ical service (EMS) providers
for their exemplary service.
Cleary joined Medix
Ambulance in 2007, and
is the primary ambulance
biller. “Her great attitude is
a pleasure to be around, and
generates a pleasurable work
environment yet still pro-
duces high quality work in a
very fast-paced job,” Medix
Business Office Manager
Krista Cuthbert said. “She
makes everyone feel wel-
come from the moment they
meet her.”
Known for her positive
outlook and willingness to
assist anyone with ques-
tions, she is also a member
and serves as the secretary of
Medix’s Safety, Operations
and Quality Committee. “It
is an honor to be nominated
for this award out of all the
outstanding employees that
we have at Medix,” said
Cleary.

Assistance Program (GCAP).
The event also includes
important tips and informa-
tion about what public agen-
cies are buying, where oppor-
tunities can be found, solving
red tape issues, financing
options from a lending panel
of experts, and other business
resources. Networking and
one-on-one time is available
with multiple state agencies.
AAUW scholarships for women

Each year the Astoria Asso-
ciation of University Women
(AAUW) grants scholar-
ships from the proceeds of its
annual Dessert Reader’s The-
ater. To be eligible for a grant,
the applicant must be female,
admitted to an associate or
baccalaureate degree program
at an accredited college or uni-
versity, beginning enrollment
no later than this fall, and must
have a Clatsop Community
College grade point average of
3.0 or better.
