Trails End Gallery will participate
in the Gearhart Art Walk with new
member works. June’s featured
artist is Janet Nelson Hutchings dis-
playing her show titled “A Little Bit
of Everything.” She will be honored
with a reception 2 to 5 p.m. The
gallery is located one block south
of Pacific Way in the “Little Red

Hutchings, a fabric artist, is
originally from San Diego, Calif.,
where she was a member of Span-
ish Village Art Center. She creates
quilted landscapes and flowers,

ink, wood and just about anything
else that enhances the image.
When commercially printed
fabrics no longer suited her needs,
Hutchings learned to paint and
dye fabrics, adapting mark-making
techniques typically used on paper.
She also prints her own landscape
and animal photographs on several
types of fabric, then quilts these
images and embellishes them to
bring out the details and give her
work a three-dimensional look.

summer season, taking

business around the Port
of Ilwaco and Downtown
Ilwaco are geared up for
an evening of art, music
and refreshments.
A bonanza of art will
be available, including
photography by Bruce
Peterson, jewelry by
silversmith Luisa Mack,
watercolors by Penny
Treat, beach baskets by
Susan Spence, watercol-
ors by Don Nisbett, print-
making by Marie Powell,
art by Rose Power and
paintings by Martha Lee,
just to name a few exhib-
iting artists.
And don’t miss the
tour of Ilwaco’s China
Beach Resort on the
shores of the Columbia
River, featuring exqui-
site art by potter David
Campiche. Weather per-
mitting, he promises to
have a big bonfire on the
beachfront for everyone
to enjoy!
