Author Rene Denfeld drops by Beach Books

in Seaside is hosting author
Rene Denfeld for a Lunch in
the Loft at noon
Friday, May 11.
Denfeld wrote the
novels “The Child
Finder” and “The
Enchanted,” as
well as essays in
such publications
as the New York
Times.
The cost of the
event is $30, which
includes a catered lunch and
signed copy of “The Child
Finder.”
The novel, a literary
thriller, explores themes
of survival, resiliency and
redemption. It has received
much acclaim, including
a starred Library Journal
review, major press
and an Indie Next
pick. Landing as
the No. 1 fiction
bestseller at Pow-
ell’s within its first
week, “The Child
Finder” became a
top 10 bestseller
in Canada and a
bestseller in the
U.S.
Denfeld’s lyrical writing
is inspired by her work with
sex trafficking victims and
innocents in prison. She
was the chief investigator
at a public defender’s office

history herself, Denfeld is
an accomplished speak-
er who loves connecting
with others. She lives in
Portland, where she is the
mother of three kids adopt-
ed from foster care.
