HILLSBORO — The two-team
race for the Cowapa League title
took another turn Friday in Hillsboro,
where Astoria posted a 4-2 win over
Banks.
With the victory, the eighth-ranked
Fishermen pulled into a first-place tie
ria’s eight, but the Braves stranded 12
baserunners.
“I’d say we responded well from
the loss (to Seaside, last Wednes-
day),” said Astoria coach Glen From-
willer. “We challenged ourselves. No
discredit to Seaside, we didn’t play
the way we’re capable of, and we
needed to bounce back.
“This is huge,” he said of the win
over Banks.
